What is a Reflection?
After completing the SWOT analysis and watching the video, in my opinion a reflection is identifying one’s own values, skills, experiences and interests that they have accumulated over the duration of their time as either a university student (or in this case as a co-op student). It helps to provide a more in-depth view about a person and gives an overview of what drives and motivates a person along with the obstacles that a person is facing or have faced.
Why is it Important to You as a Learner?
Ideally, it helps me grow as a learner and to think about things from a different perspective. Reflection identifies my strengths and weaknesses as a learner, which allows me to create plans to overcome them and to use my strengths to further increase productivity and learning.
Why is it Important to Your future Based on Your Areas of Opportunity?
Being able to understand because software is constantly evolving and changing and will not be the same 5 – 10 years into the future. Without having the correct mindset of reflection, then I would be stuck thinking that everything would be pleasant and that there would be no need for improvement or that my improvement would just be listening to what my manager tells me. Through the idea of understanding my own values, strengths and weaknesses, I can constantly improve myself and present myself to future employers as an innovative individual who knows how to use my strengths to seek opportunities.
