Initially, I chose York University primarily because I was offered a decent scholarship at the start and due to the increasing costs of tuition, paired with my financial status, it was an influential factor.

I originally chose computer engineering because I remember back in high school that a friend told me that the computer science program was a more math based program and at the time I was not interested in doing more math in university.
Furthermore, I had a strong interest in programming.
Near the end of my second year of computer engineering, I wanted to focus more on programming and software, and less on the hardware/electrical aspect so I ended up switching to software engineering. My desire to learn, programming skills and drive to push forward are the key strengths I will use to successfully complete my degree at York.
